It was another unexpected Saturday in the the hoops world. Saturdays have caused so much chaos that it feels like if the first round of the NCAA tournament was on a Saturday, I would say that a 16 seed has a chance. Virginia lost at home to Virginia Tech , while Purdue went into East Lansing and was unable to leave with a victory as Michigan State held their ground. In the Big 12 Kansas, Oklahoma, and West Virginia all lost to Baylor, Iowa State, and Oklahoma State respectively and now Texas Tech sits alone the top of the standings. North Carolina was able to get back at NC State by winning on the road. Villanova ended their losing skid to Butler by using a big second half to take control of the game. Miami, Providence, Seton Hall, Washington and Florida State suffered rough losses to Boston College, DePaul, Georgetown, Oregon State and Notre Dame. Arizona was able to take down USC while Kentucky fell again this time to Texas A&M. Tennessee took a loss at Alabama and Gonzaga was able to get revenge by winning at St. Mary’s
With the selection committee releasing their top 16 teams on Sunday, I wanted to get these up and plan on having a bracket up and ready to go by Sunday night after another day of scrubbing. Life doesn’t get any better than this.
