Seminoles starter P.J. Savoy leads the way with 20 knocking down 5 threes as Florida State beats Florida 81-60. The Seminoles shot 47.9% from the field and 11-23 from behind the arc to help open up an 11 point lead at half and never looked back. The Seminoles outscored the Gators 29-12 in the first 10 minutes of the second half to turn this game into one of the most lopsided victories in this historic rivalry.
Florida needed big games from Jalen Hudson and KeVaughn Allen in order to prove that they were for real this year but neither showed up. Hudson finished with 11 points on three made field goals and Allen walked away with 0. The Gators struggled against the length and toughness of the Seminoles finishing the game just shooting 37% as a team.
Florida State entered the game without star player Phil Cofer but the Seminoles had no issues without him as Terrance Mann added nine point and nine rebounds to go along with 13 points from Trent Forrest.
The Seminoles look to keep things rolling as they play at Tulane on Sunday while Florida will look to turn things around when they host Charleston Southern on Friday.
