Thursday brought us a very slow day of college hoops. Only 23 games took place with no ranked opponents seeing action.
In the big game of the day Alabama traveled to Orlando to take on UCF. Both teams went into the game needing a win and as they both look to move up the rankings. A loss to either team wouldn’t be completely bad but certainly not needed on either resume as neither team looks to be a team that will turn into a signature win. UCF started hot and with Alabama making a few runs here and there the Knights held them off to move to 6-1.
Boston College held off Sacred Heart and Belmont stayed undefeated with a road win in OT at Samford keeping a slim possibility of an at-large birth alive. Arizona had no troubles with Georgia Southern and Loyola Marymount continued to roll through their schedule.
Friday brings in five ranked teams in action and a few more games that will have an impact down the road in March
