Morning Roundup 1/9

Tuesday night had plenty of action going on as the season is turning the corner into more of the heart of conference play. To start off the night the Big 12 stole the show as Baylor upset #20 Iowa State and Texas lost at Oklahoma State. Later the Big 12 kept it running with a terrific game as #8 Texas Tech held off #23 Oklahoma. In the Big East newly ranked #24 St. John’s traveled to Villanova and took there second loss on the season. #3 Tennessee and # 18 Kentucky started slow before Tennessee ran away from Missouri and Kentucky handled Texas A&M. Elsewhere in the SEC #14 Mississippi State traveled to South Carolina and fell in overtime. South Carolina is now 2-0 in the SEC after starting the season 5-7. #1 Duke easily took care of Wake Forest as Zion Williamson dropped 30 and #12 North Carolina faced a tough road test with #15 NC State but showed some true grit bringing home the win. #6 Michigan State were tested by Purdue but pulled away late and Maryland got a big road win over Minnesota. #19 Buffalo blew out Toledo and showed that they may be the only contender in the MAC.
