The conference tournaments have not let us down so far. In the ACC tournament Notre Dame came away with a big win as they took down Virginia Tech. I still don’t think this has put them in but they now have a chance against Duke which could be what puts them in. They are a very interesting case with Colson being back and I honestly could see the committee putting them in right now but we will only find out on Sunday. Syracuse may have lost their last chance at an at large bid with a blow out loss to North Carolina. NC State also took a loss to Boston College and keeps them on the bubble. Arizona State took a loss to Colorado and are in real danger of falling out of the bracket. Their early season work is the only thing that is keeping them currently in. Bucknell has sealed their spot as they won the Patriot League.

A new color has been added to the rankings and is to show teams that are out of their conference tournament and may have to worry slightly about their chances to make it into the bracket.

With the regular season ending yesterday tonight was a little on the slower side. Iona and UNC Greensboro both punched their tickets to the big dance. Everyone else continued to move on in their respective brackets. Saint Mary’s took a loss to BYU and are in some real danger now to actually make the tournament. Ia haven’t moved them down yet but it will be really interesting to see what others around them do. They will most definitely not feel comfortable as the week plays out being uncertain of their hopes.

The Colonial, Horizon, Northeast, Summit, and WCC will all crown a champion tomorrow. Wright State, Charleston, Wagner, South Dakota State, and Gonzaga all look to hold up to their seeds and walk away a ticket to the big dance, while BYU looks to play bid thief and steal a spot away from the bubble.

Notre Dame and Syracuse will play in must win games as Arkansas Pine Bluff and Vermont will look to continue on in their respective tournaments.

Well I am looking forward to the AAC for years to come. Wichita State and Cincinnati will be rivals very soon and I hope they meet again this season in the AAC tournament. Radford, Lipscomb, Loyola, and Michigan all locked into the tournament now will sit and rest as they await the selection show to find out where they will be playing and who. Temple took a bad loss at a horrible time and I don’t believe they will be able to make the dance without winning the AAC tournament. It will be interesting and I am not completely eliminating them yet because they could have a chance to play Wichita State, Houston, and Cincinnati so depending on others they could sneak in but very unlikely.

Two more bids will be earned tomorrow as Iona looks to repeat as the MAAC champions and in the Southern East Tennessee State and UNC Greensboro should put in place a fantastic game. Charleston, South Dakota State, Gonzaga, and Saint Mary’s will also be in action and look to continue on in their respective conference tournaments.

With Championship week upon us the excitement of March has already begun. Murray State locked their spot in with a win in the Ohio Valley Championship game and become the first team to go dancing. Today we will see four more teams join the Racers as the Big Ten, Missouri Valley, Big South, and Atlantic Sun will all finish up their tournaments today. Elsewhere Cincinnati already fished off Wichita State to claim the AAC regular season title.

A few new additions to the rankings. Teams highlighted in yellow means that they will be an automatic qualifier by winning their conference tournament. The teams highlighted in purple are teams that have currently lost in their tournaments but will still receive a at-large bid to the big dance.

The bubble is still interesting as of now i feel like the last nine spots are up for grabs between 12 teams but I have 12 teams waiting in the wings who with a few wins in their conference tournaments could make a leap into the discussion. Rhode Island and Nevada I believe are safely in as of now but with a loss they could be sweating it out come Selection Sunday.
